Una edición Super Deluxe ampliada del segundo álbum de Talking Heads, «More Songs About Buildings and Food», incluirá discos con grabaciones descartadas de estudio y en vivo de la época.
El pack de tres CD y un Blu-ray estará disponible el 25 de julio y marca la primera colaboración de la banda con el productor Brian Eno, quien posteriormente trabajaría con el grupo en sus dos LP posteriores, incluyendo el fundamental «Remain in Light».
El álbum de 1978 también incluye el primer sencillo de Talking Heads en el Top 40, una versión de «Take Me to the River» de Al Green que alcanzó el puesto n.º 26.
La próxima reedición incluye un disco de rarezas, la mayoría inéditas, incluyendo versiones alternativas de las 11 canciones del álbum. Puedes escuchar «Found a Job» del nuevo pack a continuación.
«More Songs About Buildings and Food» marcó una evolución creativa para el cuarteto neoyorquino, alejándose del áspero new wave art-rock de su debut de 1977, Talking Heads: 77, hacia una música más rítmica y conmovedora. Ampliarían aún más esta paleta en los años siguientes.
Además de una remasterización del álbum original para 2025, la reedición ampliada incluye un CD con rarezas de estudio; un CD de la grabación de un concierto del Entermedia Theater de Nueva York del 10 de agosto de 1978; y un Blu-ray con mezclas del álbum en alta resolución, surround y Atmos, además de material de video del concierto en Nueva York y una actuación en Berkeley de 1978.
