Una de las metas de cada músico o música es lógicamente, que alguien te escuche. Esto pasa en cualquier género y por supuesto, en el rock y el metal. La música que más nos gusta llega a la masividad y son muchas las canciones que llegan a la impresionante cifra de un billón de reproducciones.
La plataforma Spotify cuenta con el «club del billón», que muestra todas las creaciones que llegan a esta enorme cantidad de «plays». Dentro del rock y el metal, según consigna el sitio Loudwire, es el 10% del total que representan los sonidos que nos agradan.
Hay otro dato importantísimo. Desde la década de los 60, cada 10 años hay un track dentro de este ránking. En cuanto a bandas, Queen y Arctic Monkeys están empatados en cuanto a la mayor cantidad de canciones escuchadas en más de mil millones de reproducciones, con un total de cinco cada uno. Sorprendentemente, The Beatles (la banda que ha vendido más álbumes y ha recopilado la mayor cantidad de canciones número uno ) solo tiene una.
