Según un ranking elaborado por StreamnDestroy, a pesar de ser cada vez más antiguos artistas de culto, siguen siendo las grandes bandas como Metallica y Black Sabbath las más escuchadas.

El estudio se realizó en base a las reproducciones de las más populares aplicaciones de streaming. Se analizaron los datos de las canciones más escuchadas, por lo que muchos nombres de bandas aparecen más de una vez en la lista.

Como era de esperar, son pocas las bandas que se llevan los primeros 10 puestos, ya que Metallica, TOOL, Five Finger Death Punch y Black Sabbath, tienen los primeros nueve puestos. Slipknot se queda con un espacio en el puesto 10.
