Siguiendo su senda de reconocimientos, «Una mujer fantástica» fue nominada este martes a los Oscar.
La cinta chilena dirigida por Sebastián Lelio y protagonizada pord Daniela Vega competirá en la categoría Mejor Película Extranjera y compite con «The Insult», la primera película que compite en la historia de El Líbano, «Loveless» de Rusia, «On Body And Soul» de Hungria y «The Square» de Suecia.
La cinta alemana «In The Fade», quien venció a la del director Sebastián Lelio en los Globos de Oro, no fue nominada.
De esta forma, la chilena sella la segunda vez en que un crédito local está presente en esta categoría de la ceremonia, luego de que «No» del director Pablo Larraín fuera nominada.
